Hope you are well. I made buttercream today but by the end of mixing it, butter granules separated and it became watery. All was going well until i mixed milk and then it all went south. Any tips how can I prevent this please.

Aditi sent me a picture and more info on this via instagram, however wanted to reply on here also just in case anyone else has this issue. Aditi is using a hand mixer instead of a stand mixer. Even if you follow the steps shown in the tutorial you will most likely end up with a different result as the hand mixer will mix your buttercream differently to how a stand mixer would. The attachment is different and the speeds are not the same, therefore you will not achieve the same result. Adding too much milk can also result in your buttercream separating and becoming watery.
